The Jack Goodwin Research Library, a department of the historical society, contains a rich collection of books, documents and photographs that depicts the human history of Carteret County. Skillful genealogists are available to help you sort out your family tree.  The library also contains an extensive collection of Civil War books, maps and documents. Staffed by volunteers, it is recommended that you call ahead for an appointment to get assistance with your research. Access to the library is free to CCHS members, and for paying patrons of the museum.
